Licensing options for Surfer and Grapher

Golden Software offers our software solutions as both single-user and concurrent use licenses with monthly subscription, annual subscription, and one-time + maintenance license terms.

Single User License

A single user license is assigned to one individual, and only that individual has permission to use the software. Single user licenses can be activated on up to two devices, allowing flexibility to work both in the office and in the field, for example. If you need to switch computers, you can easily deactivate your old device from the software or from your Golden Software account.

This license type is recommended for individuals, small teams without dedicated IT support, and power-users who require access to the software for daily work.

Concurrent Use License

A concurrent use license (also referred to as a "network" license) is managed over a central network. A license server must be set up on the same network to manage license distribution.

The active licenses are activated on the server computer, and client computers connect to the server to check out an available seat each time the software is launched. The product can be installed on as many client machines as desired. This license type is recommended for larger organizations with IT support and teams utilizing remote desktop environments.

License Term Options & Pricing

For Surfer and Grapher, both single user and concurrent use options are available as subscription licenses or as a one-time license paired with software maintenance.

• Subscription Licenses: Include the cost of continuous software maintenance and ongoing updates within the subscription fee.
• One-Time Licenses: A one-time license provides ongoing access to the current software version with a single upfront payment, while software maintenance is purchased separately for ongoing updates and support.
  • Software Maintenance: Software maintenance is provided as a separate annual service requiring annual renewal to maintain access to technical support and the latest software upgrades. If software maintenance on a license has expired, you can estimate the cost to bring your license back into good standing.
