Renew a software subscription

Software subscriptions automatically renew on the renewal date until they are cancelled. If you have a card on file, you'll be charged on your next billing date. No action is required on your part.

If you need to update or change the card used for your renewal, check out the article How do I add, update, or delete my credit/debit card on file?

Post renewal steps for software subscription

After your subscription is renewed, you have 5 days to update your license

If your computer is online and the software can communicate with our activation server your license will update automatically. No action is required on your part.
You can verify your license was updated by clicking File | License info.  The header in the License Info dialog will tell you your subscription is active if the license has been updated.

If your computer is offline, security prevents connection or our activation server, or your concurrent license server software is out of date you must take action to update your license. Please reference the article Update to to the latest software version for instructions on how to update your software licenses offline.

Cancel your software subscription

By default, all subscriptions are automatically renewed on their expiration date. To cancel your software subscription for Surfer or Grapher prior to reaching the current expiration date:

  1. Login to your My Account profile
  2. Navigate to My Products
  3. Locate the license you wish to cancel
  4. Click Cancel Subscription

Your software will remain functional until the date specified in the "Next Billing Date" field. If you're unable to access your My Account profile, please email our customer success team at sales@goldensoftware.com with your product key for assistance.

Expired software subscription

Once your Surfer or Grapher subscription expires you will be unable to access the software until the subscription is restarted or a new subscription license is purchased. When you open the software you will be prompted with an option to restart your subscription. You can also restart your subscription through your My Account portal.

If you have a concurrent subscription license that has expired, your end users will not be able to utilize a seat from your license server, and they will not be able to use the software until the subscription is renewed or a new concurrent license is purchased.

Restart a cancelled subscription

We recognize that software utilization requirements can evolve over time. To make things as smooth as possible in those situations, we allow cancelled Surfer and Grapher subscriptions to be restarted at any time. To restart your subscription:

  1. Login to your My Account profile
  2. Go to My Products
  3. Find the license you wish to reactivate
