Thank you for your comment! The slight tilt that is shown in Surfer is due to the true North/South position of the image when viewed using the defined coordinate system for the map.

If a coordinate system has not been assigned to the map, please follow the instructions below to assign one:

    1. Click the Map in the Contents window to select it.
    2. Click the Coordinate System tab in the Properties window.
    3. Click Change in the Coordinate system field.
    4. In the Assign Coordinate System dialog, navigate to your coordinate system and select the appropriate coordinate system.
    5. Click OK and the map will be projected into that coordinate system.

If the image is still tilted but the map is displayed correctly with north/south on the vertical, then you can crop the areas that show the slight tilt by adjusting the map limits:

    1. Click the Map in the Contents window to select it.
    2. Click the Limits tab in the Properties window.
    3. Adjust the xMin, xMax, yMin, and yMax as desired.

    Alternatively,

    1. Click Map Tools | Map Tools | Set Limits.
    2. Draw a polygon around the desired map area and press ENTER.
