    Hello weldeab,

While there is no direct way to do this in Grapher, you can create a class scatter plot and set the number of classes to the number of data points or unique values you have. Alternatively, if you have our Surfer application, this can be accomplished there with a post map. I've added your vote for this feature to our suggestion file.

    Thanks,

    Hello weldeab,

With the release of Grapher 15 Preview today, you can create a scatter plot that has points colored based on the values in a specified data column. To do so:

    1. Click Home | New Graph | Basic | Scatter Plot.
    2. Select your data file in the Open Worksheet dialog and click Open.
    3. Select the scatter plot.
    4. On the Symbol page in the Property Manager, expand the Fillsection in Plot Symbol Properties.
    5. Set the Color column to your desired data column.
    6. Choose the desired Colormap.

If you have active maintenance for your Grapher license, you can follow these instructions to participate in Grapher 15 Preview: How Can I Participate In Grapher's Preview Track? If you do not have active maintenance, you can renew your maintenance or upgrade your old license to participate in Grapher 15 Preview.

    Thanks!
