    Hi Jan,

The X and Y minimum and maximum coordinates defined when creating a Surfer grid file define the position of the grid nodes for the corners of the grid.  When the grid is filled, the area between four nodes is filled based on the lower left grid node value.  This is slightly different from raster grids created in other programs where the min and max values for a grid define the center of the cells/rasters in each corner of the grid.

When exporting a color filled map based on a Surfer grid file to TIFF the maximum X and Y values for the map will be the same as the limits for the grid file. The pixel coordinates for the file will depend on the resolution of the TIFF export.

    Thanks,

    Katie
