    Hello,

We are not very familiar with AutoCad, but looking at the AutoDesk Knowledge Network page, it shows using EXPLODE may result in the loss of color on any object. The effect of EXPLODE on the polyface mesh does not include any information about whether color is retained, or not. The XPLODE command seems to have many color options during the process and after I am unsure what might be causing the lack of color after using these commands, and I would recommend talking with CAD's support to see options available in CAD to retain the color. We are unfamiliar with LISP routines and are unable to provide any support with these.

    Hello!

I have posted with the same issue to CAD Tutor Forum

    http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?104257-Explode-polyface-mesh-to-3D-face

    David Bethel replied as below:

It can be done, but not with AutoCAD's standard tools.

I don't know what program created the mesh and or converted into AutoCAD's PFace format, but I do know it used many non standard values.

Is true color a must or can ACAD's ACI be suffecient ?

Since Voxler did the export could you please provide some insides on what non-standard values it uses and if the palette is True Color or not?

BTW, why Voxler uses Polyface MESH, why not to export into separate 3D Face primitives?

    Hello,

You can read about Voxer's DXF export format here. Voxler does export in True Color for AutoCAD 2004 (and later) DXF exports. The DXF doesn't allow graphical entities (such as rectangles, polygons, etc.) to be filled. Therefore, only the edges of objects are exported. Voxler does not currently support 3DSolid DXF format.

    Figured that out!

Mesh Tesselation Options (MESHOPTIONS Command), creates a mesh from the Polyface Mesh. The Mesh shows no color, HOWEVER, simple EXPLODE will break the Mesh into 3D Faces and will revert to the original colors of the Polyface Mesh.
