    Hi Lars,

Thank you for your message! We appreciate your suggestions.

You can save the gridding parameters used from the Grid | Data dialog by saving the Grid Report during the gridding process. To do so, be sure the Grid Report box is checked in the Grid | Data dialog before clicking OK. Save the grid report for future use. I've added your vote to our suggestion file to be able to access this information from the report that is generated when you click the Grid | Grid Info command.

Rather than just being able to access the parameters, are you looking for a way to save the parameters to a file that can be reloaded later? I've added this to our suggestion list as well.

I've also added your suggestion to be able to create pie maps in Surfer. This is a feature that is included in our thematic mapping program, MapViewer. You can download a free trial of MapViewer from our website.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

    Hi,

I would appreciate to be able to save and reload gridding parameters, especially the grid dimensions. When working on several projects for which I use specific grid dimensions, I always have to cut and paste the values to the dialog. I use the option to remember the settings between sessions. Unfortunately there is no button to reset the dimensions to the min/max values of the current dataset if the current settings are not appropriate.

Storing the settings that where used when creating the gridfile in the gridfile itself would be useful since sometimes people don't use the report Feature or grid files are passed along without the report.

    Regards, Jochen

    Hi Jochen,

Thank you for your comments. I have added a vote to our suggestion file on your behalf to be able to save gridding parameters to a file to be applied to other data sets and to save settings in the grid file itself. I've also added a new feature request to be able to reset the X and Y minimum and maximum to the defaults Surfer calculates.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer
