Gridder Metrics- Variance
Hello, I am constructing a 3D geochemical model of Mg-contents, based on Mg contents in drill cores (The Mg content was measured every on 0.5 m in each core). I am using the gridder module (Inverse distance). This part works fine. I would now like to visualise at each voxel location the heterogeneity of the drill cores that were used to calculate that voxels' gridded value (i.e. the drill cores that are within the search radius of the gridder module). For this, I tried using the gridder-metrics module -> variance. I would give this module the same geometry as the 3D model, and also the same search radius. However, I noticed (if I understand it correctly) that this module only allows to calculate the variance of the Z-value. Therefore, my question is: is there any way to calculate the variance of a different parameter than the Z-value? Thanks in advance, Katrijn

Hello Katrijn,
Thank you for posting your question. The Gridder in Voxler works on the component value, this includes the Data Metrics gridding method. If you are running Voxler 4 you can increase the number of component to the number of component columns you have in your data by selecting the data source module in the Network Manager, and increasing the Component column value in the Property Manager. Once you do so, you can assign the column next to the Component fields in the Property Manager. If you have multiple components assigned in the data source module, the Gridder will have a Input componen drop-down menu in the Property Manager that you can assign what column is being gridded.
I hope this helps!
Drew
