Thank you! What I meant was how to make a linked-text of scale that shows the scale of the log. To clarify this, please see the example: Auto-recalculated Scale (x) Scaling Depth Per Inch : 1 Standard Scale 1 : 12 SCALE is [b:23sz8esf]1:12[/b:23sz8esf] I NEED THIS VALUE [b:23sz8esf]1:12[/b:23sz8esf] to be shown as a linked-text. So I directly know my scale and whenever I change the scale, this value will change. Same for maps. Thanks in advance Regards

    Hello qubalee,

My apologies for not answering you sooner. There are certain log types (line/symbol, bar, crossplot, tadpole, function) that automatically create a scale bar when they are created. For any other logs or for a cross section, you can use the Draw | Scale Bar command to add a horizontal scale bar. For vertical scaling, use the Log | Depth command to draw a depth log. Map scaling is shown with axes.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

There is not a way to create a linked text object that displays the scale in standard scale form. I will add this request to our suggestion file! For now, you could create a regular text object, but you would have to manually update it when the scale is changed. Or, you could create a linked text item showing the scale with the Scaling Depth Per Inch value (instead of the Standard Scale) using a collars table. For example, to use a collars table:

    1. Create a collars table for your Hole ID (if you haven't already), and include a scale value in column G (the Scale column, in scaling depth per inch).
    2. Then, in the borehole view properties set the Depth Settings to Collars Table and be sure Auto-recalculate Scale is checked. The scale used will be the scale entered in the collars table.
    3. Create a linked text item, setting the Linked text type to Column, the Table to Collars, and the Data column to Scale. The scale is shown on the borehole view.
    4. When you want to change the scale, you would need to change it in the Collars table instead of the Property Manager. As long as you change it in the Collars table, the scale will change in the borehole view and be updated in the linked text.

    Thanks,

    Kari
