Exporting .IV to 3D PDF
Dear Voxler Team, I am currently producing 3d model using voxler 4 and have a really bad time when trying to share the maps with clients. After some research I found this program: 3d PDF that apparently can do the conversion from an .IV export file and tryied it. The final result seem ok but there is an important missing component after importing .IV into 3DPDF, my gridder files are not imported in the final pdf. Original Voxler file:
3DPDF conversion:
According to the 3DPDF team, the .grd surface wis missing from the .iv file, so that would be the first thing to check... Do you have any solution? Thanks

Thank you Andrew for your answer. The program I am using is PDF3D Report Gen (http://www.pdf3d.com/). I will try with the Isosurfaces see what kind of results I can get. -
Hello,
Thank you for posting your issue. First, I would like to know what program you are using to create the 3D PDFs, I would like to pass this information on to some of our users. Second, in the images below it looks like there is a VolRender that is not displaying, is that correct? If so, VolRenders do not export to IV format, so this is why you are not seeing it in the 3D PDF. A VolRender does not contain any primitives that can be exported to DXF or IV. You can verify this by importing the IV into an empty project. The only recommendation I can give you is to use a series of Isosurfaces instead of the VolRender. This will not create the same display, but can achieve some pretty good results.
I hope this helps!

TonyMak,
Thank you for posting your request, I have added a vote to our suggestion file for future versions of Voxler to support 3D PDF export. I have tried PDF3D and it does work very well with Voxler. If this is a feature that you need soon, I would recommend taking a look at PDF3D ReportGen.
Thanks!
Drew
