Will you be using Surfer Version 14's interface in Version 15?
I have been a loyal customer of Golden Surfer Versions since V2. You have always kept the basic interface the same...with logical and intuitive placement of commands. A couple of mouse clicks and I had a map created as needed.
For example...I needed to display a 3D Surface map: click on maps, new map, cursor down the list to 3D Surface map, add map, hit trackball, etc. and the map was ready for printout.
Now in V14, most simple commands are buried deep and hidden within the interface with few logical or intuitive locations. I have to memorize a complex set of steps or call out help to just work a couple of simple commands that were readily available on the main interface screen in the past.
I have found that I can get my map presentations produced faster by generating maps in V14 and then dropping back to V13 with its "old fashioned" but intuitive commands, to develop the finished product.

Hello Chuck,
I believe it is the intention to keep the Surfer 14 interface in 15, yes. An explanation of the reordering is available in the User Interface training video: https://support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002091567-Surfer-14-User-Interface-Training-Video.
If you're not a fan of this reorganization, you may be interested in creating a custom ribbon bar tab with your commonly-used commands. Instructions for doing so can be found here: https://support.goldensoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001444828-How-can-I-customize-Surfer-s-ribbon-bar-. If you're more of a visual person, this training video for Grapher demonstrates the commands shown in the article I just mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p030iClZHM.
Thanks!

It would be nice if there were a setting to get back the old menue bar. I find this ribbons total unintuitiv. I cann't work with them. I have used the new Surfer 14 user interface with the ribbons for about 2 months, but I cann't accustom myself with the ribbons. Every step takes so long. Every search for a command takes so long. There is less space for my plan, because the Ribbon bar takes so much place (yes I now i can minimize it, but then i need more time to search for functions even if they are allready displayed). My dramatic conclusion: I hate the new ribbon bar.
At the moment I fall back to Surfer 13. The new features of Surfer 14 are not worth working with the ribbon interface.

Hi Lukas,
Thank you for posting your comments on the Surfer Forum. I have added your comments, in the form of a vote, to our suggestion file for future versions of Surfer to have an option to go from a ribbon to an older file menu structure. Thanks!
