Some imagery may have embedded alpha channel information, which can affect the transparency of an image, making it look faded or grey after importing into Surfer. Now Surfer Beta gives you the option to ignore the alpha channel. Ignoring the alpha channel will import your graphics in rich, true and detailed color. This new feature is available for images imported into a Base(raster) layer or when importing the image as a Graphic.
See how to turn the alpha channel on/off in the steps below:
- Click File | Open (or Home | Insert | Graphic) select the image and click Open.
- In the Contents window click the Base(raster) layer (or Image).
- In the General tab of the Properties window, uncheck Use alpha channel to turn the alpha channel off. It is turned on by default.
