Export models from Surfer's 3D View

3D modeling of your data can bring your maps to life.  Help your clients understand their site with a 3 dimensional virtual tour Surfer by exporting a shareable file they can save a view as needed. 

Surfer offers a few different options for exporting models from the 3D View. 

 

Export 3D View to an Image:

  1. Select your Map and click Map Tools | View | 3D View to open a 3D model of your project.
  2. Click 3D View | Tools | Export Image.
  3. In the Export image dialog, choose from the available image formats (eg. TIF, PNG, JPG).
  4. Check the Show options dialog box.
  5. Choose a filename and location, and click Save.
  6. In the Export Options dialog, choose your preferred export image options for the chosen filetype .(eg. resolution and color format).
  7. Click OK and the 3D View image is exported.

Export 3D View to 3D PDF or VRML

  1. Select your Map and click Map Tools | View | 3D View to open a 3D model of your project.
  2. Click 3D View | Output | Export 3D
  3. The Export 3D Window will open.

  4. Set the Save as type field, select WRL VRML 3D Vector Model or 3D PDF (Vector)
  5. Ensure the Show options dialog box is checked.
  6. Choose a name and location for the file.
  7. Click Save.
  8. In the Export Options dialog, choose your preferred settings for the export.
  9. Click OK
