If you receive an expired trial message after successfully activating and using the software, this indicates that the license is no longer recognized as valid or has been removed from the computer. The most common cause of an activated Surfer, Grapher, or Strater license disappearing from the computer is a change in the locking code for the computer. Our single-user licenses are locked to the UUID + CPU Info String (Note - Grapher licenses created prior to 15-March-2023 and Surfer licenses created prior to 6-April-2023 are locked to the Ethernet Address + CPU Info String + UUID by default). If any of these criteria change then the locking code for the computer will change, and previous activation will no longer be recognized as valid.
To restore the license to your computer, deactivate the previous activation through our My Account portal and then activate the license again by entering your product key into the program.
If you believe that the computer change that caused the change in locking codes will occur routinely, please contact our support team to let us know. We can then create a custom license that will better accommodate your computer setup.
If your licenses are no longer on your computer, but you do not believe the locking code is the cause, please click the Create support file link in the lower right corner of the licensing dialog and send in the ZIP file for further investigation.
