When copying and pasting from Excel into a Surfer worksheet, there is a 255 character limit per cell. If you would like to add your suggestion for this to be changed in Surfer, let us know.
To work around this, you can do one of the following:
- Click the File | Open in Worksheet command in Surfer to open the Excel file. When the file is opened, the full text in the cell is displayed.
- In a worksheet window, click the Data | Edit | Merge command to merge the Excel file into the existing worksheet. When the file is merged in this manner, the full text in the cell is displayed.
- Copy the text from Excel, close Excel, then paste the text into the Surfer worksheet. Excel will no longer have a lock on the information, allowing all of the data to copy and paste.
- Copy the text from Excel, paste into an intermediary program like Notepad, and then paste the text into Surfer's worksheet. When copied from the intermediary program, the text is copied as text and not Excel data.
