How can I use Didger to digitize a project that uses a logarithmic scale?

 
To digitize a project that uses a logarithmic scale, the project’s projection needs to be set to have Logarithmic axes for the X Axis Type, Y Axis Type, or both prior to digitizing. If the project contains only an image, during the image registration and warping process, the X Axis Type, Y Axis Type, or both axes need to set to be Logarithmic.

 

This can be done in a blank project and when importing an unreferenced image.  The steps to both methods are listed below.

In a blank project:

  1. Click the Map | Set Default Projection command.
  2. In the Assign Coordinate System dialog, change the X Axis Type, Y Axis Type, or both to Logarithmic and click OK. Any digitizing will be recorded using the Logarithmic values.

 

Importing an unreferenced image:

  1. Click File | Import select your file and click Open.  
  2. In the Image Registration and Warping dialog in the Specify Coordinate System section, toggle Specify.
  3. Click the Coordinate System button.
  4. In the Assign Coordinate System dialog, change the X Axis Type, Y Axis Type, or both to Logarithmic and click OK and OK again. Any digitizing will be recorded using the Logarithmic values.
