How can I add a regression fit line to my graph in Grapher?

To add a fit curve to your data, follow these steps:
  1. Create the scatter plot of your data:
    1. Click the Home | New Graph | Basic | Scatter Plot command (create scatter plot icon).
    2. Select the data file and click Open. The plot is created.

Scatter Plot Graph
This scatter plot graph shows the default data.
The graph has also added axis titles and formatting.

  1. Click on the Line/Scatter Plot in the Object Manager to select it.
  2. Click Graph Tools | Add to graph | Fit Curve. By default, a linear fit will be applied.
  3. Click on the Linear Fit in the Object Manager to select it.
  4. In the Property Manager, click on the Plot tab.
  5. Change the Fit type field to your desired regression type.

Note that if you have a line connecting the actual data points in addition to the fit curve line, you can make the line connecting the points invisible to remove it:

  1. Click on the Line/Scatter Plot in the Object Manager to select it.
  2. Click on the Line tab in the Property Manager.
  3. Click on the existing line option (Solid) next to Style and select Invisible from the list.

This plot shows the original data and a linear fit regression curve.
