Insert a Per Mil Symbol in Grapher

You can insert any TrueType font character into any of your labels or plot text. To add a per mil sign (‰) to your graph, follow the steps below.

Add a per mil sign (‰) to a text box

If the ‰ sign should be in an existing text box,

  1. Double-click on the text.
  2. In the Text Editor, place the cursor at the appropriate position.
  3. Press and hold the ALT key on the keyboard. Type 0137 on the numeric keypad. The ‰ will appear.
  4. As an alternative to step 3,
    1. Click the Insert symbol (insert_symbol_icon.png) button.
    2. Change the Symbol Set to the desired font (Arial, for instance).
    3. Scroll down until you see the appropriate symbol. Click on it.
    4. Click OK and the symbol is inserted into the text box.
  5. Click OK in the Text Editor and the ‰ appears in the text.

 

Add a per mil sign (‰) to a plot label

If the ‰ sign should be in an existing plot as part of the labels,

  1. Click on the plot in the Object Manager to select it.
  2. In the Property Manager, click on the Labels tab.
  3. Click the + next to Label Format, if needed.
  4. Click the + next to Format, if needed.
  5. Click the Editor button (text_editor_icon.png) next to Suffix.
  6. In the Text Editor, place the cursor at the appropriate position.
  7. Press and hold the ALT key on the keyboard. Type 0137 on the numeric keypad. The ‰ will appear.
  8. Click OK and the ‰ will appear next to the label.

 

Add a per mil sign (‰) to an axis label

If the ‰ sign should be in an existing axis as part of the labels,

  1. Click on the axis in the Object Manager to select it.
  2. In the Property Manager, click on the Labels tab.
  3. Click the + next to Label Settings, if needed.
  4. Click the + next to Label Format, if needed.
  5. Click the + next to Format, if needed.
  6. Click the Editor button(text_editor_icon.png) next to Suffix.
  7. In the Text Editor, place the cursor at the appropriate position.
  8. Press and hold the ALT key on the keyboard. Type 0137 on the numeric keypad. The ‰ will appear.
  9. Click OK and the ‰ will appear next to the label.
