For a Surfer watershed map, what is the Threshold value?

The Threshold (cells) value is the number of upstream grid nodes that must flow into a particular cell before a stream line is created.

When the Threshold (cells) value is smaller, fewer cells are required to drain into a cell to create a stream and watershed basin. Therefore, many smaller watershed basins are created.

When the Threshold (cells) value is larger, more cells are required to drain into a cell for to create a stream and watershed basin. Therefore, fewer larger watershed basins are created.
