How can I add ID/attribute data to my digitized or imported objects in Didger?

If you digitize the objects manually (ie. Draw | Polyline), you can enter the ID information a few different ways in Didger:
  1. After you go to the Draw menu and select the object to digitize, type in the ID information for that object in the Property Manager in the Data Attributes section. Then continue and digitize that object in the plot window.
  2. You can be prompted to enter the Z value after you finish each object by checking the Enter Data After Creation check box in the Property Manager after you go to the Draw menu and select the object to digitize, and before digitizing the first object.
  3. You can have Didger automatically increment the IDs of each digitized oject by checking the Auto Increment check box in the Property Manager after you go to the Draw menu and select the object to digitize, and before digitizing the first object. After checking that check box, you can then fill in the Starting Increment Value, the Ending Increment Value and the Increment Value.
  4. You can digitize all the objects and then type in the IDs for each object afterwards in the Data Manager.
  5. You can select an object and enter in the ID information for that object in the Property Manager under the Data Attributes section.
  6. You can use Assign Elevations to assign ID information to 4 or more polylines. To use this command, go to Map | Data | Assign Elevations click and drag your cursor across a set of polylines. Then you are prompted to enter the Starting Elevation, Increment Value and you can select which ID field you want to populate. When you click OK, the IDs for those polylines are automatically entered.
  7. You can use Map | Data | Set Attributes, specify the ID information in the Property Manager (ie. enter the Z value as the Primary ID), and then click on all the objects in your project that have that particular ID value.

If you digitize the contours automatically (Image | Vectorize Image) or import the objects without IDs from another file, you can enter the ID information for the existing objects using one of these methods:

  1. You can enter the IDs for each object manually in the Data Manager.
  2. You can select an object and enter in the ID information for that object in the Property Manager under the Data Attributes section.
  4. You can use Map | Data | Set Attributes, specify the ID information in the Property Manager (ie. enter the Z value as the Primary ID), and then click on all the objects in your project that have that particular ID value.
