How are the Z Mean Square and Z Root Mean Square in Surfer's gridding report calculated?

The Z Mean Square is the sum of the squares of the Z values of the grid nodes divided by the total number of nodes.

The Z Root Mean Square is the square root of the Z Mean Square.

The various statistics shown in the gridding report are documented in the Reports topic in the Surfer help file.
