When I overlay an image on a surface in Surfer, it is too dark. How do I correct this?

To lighten the surface layer colors, change the surface color to all white and change the lighting angle and color.
  1. Select the 3D Surface layer in the Contents window.
  2. In the Properties window, click the General tab.
  3. Click the button to the right of Upper.
  4. In the Colormap dialog, select GrayScale from the Presets list.
  5. Click on the starting node and change the Color to White.
  6. Click on the Save button to save the color spectrum for future use.
  7. Click OK in the Colormap dialog.
  8. In the Properties window, click the Lighting tab.
  9. Specify a more vertical light position, such as setting Vertical (degrees) to 90.
  10. Click on the Ambient color box to change the color from black to gray if desired.
