Strater can be used to create input data for Surfer. For example, you can:
- Export the logs you create to an image or vector file and then import that file as a base map in Surfer.
- Export the data from the data tables to a multi-sheet XLSX file or numerous other data files (XLS, DAT, CSV, etc.) that can then be used to create post maps or grid files in Surfer (you will have to do some data massaging first to include the XY values for each borehole with all the data).
Additionally, Surfer maps can be exported to a variety of georeferenced file formats (such as TIF) and overlain on your Strater well map as a base layer.
Currently, there is not a direct link from Strater to Surfer that will allow you to directly create a 3D model in Surfer from data exported from Strater. If you would like to see a cross section creating in Strater in 3D, you can view it in Voxler by using the Cross Section | Export | Cross Section to Voxler command.
