How can I change the distance units between wells in my Strater cross section?

When you create a cross section and add a well header to it, the distance in the well header is automatically displayed in the Units specified in your well map.

If you don't have any units set in your map view and you don't mind setting the units in your well map:

  1. Go to your map view.
  2. Select your Map in the Object Manager.
  3. In the Coordinate System tab of the Property Manager change the Units to whatever units you want to display. Note: Since you didn't previously have any units set, the distance number displayed in the cross section well header will not change as long as the Distance Units in the Distance tab of the Property Manager are set to Automatic. So if you were displaying "300" before setting the Units, you will show "300 inches" if you set the Units to Inches and "300 meters" if you set the Units to Meters.

If you don't have any units set in your map view and you don't want to set the units in your well map:

  1. Select your well header.
  2. In the Distance tab of the Property Manager change the Distance Units to whatever units you want to display. Note: Since you don't have any units set, the number will not change. So if you were displaying "300" before setting the Distance Units, you will show "300 inches" if you set the Distance Units to Inches and "300 meters" if you set the Distance Units to Meters.

If your units are set in the map view but you want your cross section well-distances to display different units:

  1. Select your well header.
  2. In the Distance tab of the Property Manager change the Distance Units to whatever units you want to display. Note: Since you already have units set, the number will change. So if you were displaying "300 feet" before setting the Distance Units to Meters, you will show "91.44 meters" after doing so.
