Can I display text in another language in Grapher?

Yes, Grapher 9 and above support international fonts and characters (i.e. Unicode fonts).

Grapher 8 and below do not support Unicode fonts or characters. These versions only support the first 256 characters in a true type font set (*.TTF). If you are using an older version of Grapher, it is recommended that you upgrade to the current version.

If you are unable to upgrade, there are two things you can try:

  1. Display the text in another program (like Word) and copy the text. In Grapher, click the Edit | Paste Special command and paste as a picture (Enhanced Metafile). The text will not be editable, but will be displayed looking as it did in the other program.
  2. Create your own font set with the desired characters. For more instructions on creating and using custom fonts, please see our Knowledge Base article: Is it possible to create and use custom symbols in Grapher?
