Grid lines enhance the readability of technical visualizations by providing a visual bridge between data points and axis values. Grapher offers comprehensive settings for both major and minor grids.
Grid lines in Grapher are properties of the axes. You can add grid lines to your plot from the Line page of the Property Manager.
Add and Customize Grid Lines
Grid lines in Grapher are properties of the axes. You can enable and style them through the Line tab of the Property Manager.
- Create the graph as normal using the appropriate Home | New Graph command.
- Click on Y Axis 1 in the Object Manager or in the plot window to select it.
- In the Property Manager, select the Line tab.
- In the Grid Line Properties section, check the box in the Major tick grid line field.
- If you want grid lines at the minor tick marks, check the box in the Minor tick grid line option.
- Repeat steps 2-6 for X Axis 1, if needed.
Customize Appearance: Once enabled, you can expand the Major grid lines or Minor grid lines sub-sections to adjust line properties such as color, width, and style (e.g., solid, dashed, or dotted).
