Grapher sizes graphs according to axis lengths. If a graph is too small to fit the page, the axis lengths can be adjusted.
- Enable the page outline and margin outline by clicking Layout | Display | Page Outline and Layout | Display | Margins. This will make it clear where the graph lies on the page/
- Click one of the axes in the Object Manager to select it.
- In the Property Manager, click on the Axis tab.
- Change the Length to an appropriate size for the page.
- Repeat steps 2-4 for the other axis.
- Click on the Graph object in the Object Manager.
- Click and drag the graph to the desired location so that the entire graph fits within the margins on the page.
Note that if you have multiple X or Y axes, the lengths and locations may need to be adjusted for each axis if the axes lengths are not linked to one another.
Print a graph to a single page in Grapher
- Click File | Print.
- In the Print dialog, change the printer in the Name field, if desired.
- Toggle Fit to Page in the Printing Method section. This fits all of the contents in the plot window to a single page in size.
- Click OK and the graph is printed.
Note that this method only scales the graph down to a single page from multiple pages. It does not scale the graph up. To print your graph to multiple pages, see the steps below.
Print a graph to multiple pages in Grapher
- Click File | Print.
- In the Print dialog, change the printer in the Name field, if desired.
- Toggle Tile in the Printing Method section. This prints the graph to multiple pages, if the graph currently extends beyond the page size.
- Change the Horizontal and Vertical values in the Overlap section, if desired. The Overlap is how much of the graph should be repeated at the edges of the pages. If this is set to 0 inches, the graph does not have any repeated sections.
- If the graph size should be increased, change the Scale value to a value greater than 100%.
- Click OK and the graph is printed.
