How to cite Golden Software products

There are a variety of citation styles, and you should use the one required by your university, institution, or target publication. When referencing Surfer, Grapher, or Golden Software, you may cite them at the first mention or include them in your bibliography or reference list.

How to cite Surfer

If you want to reference Surfer in the body of the paper, you can use "Surfer® from Golden Software, LLC (www.goldensoftware.com)" or "Surfer® (Golden Software, LLC)" as in-text citations. Surfer is a registered trademark, and must include the ® after it.

Attribution for Default Servers

Surfer's predefined servers include attribution details displayed on the bottom-right of downloaded images and within the Download Online Maps preview. The preview also provides a link to the server's webpage for more information on its specific attribution rules; this link won't be on the downloaded image.

Attribution text size is tied to your downloaded map's resolution. Higher resolutions result in smaller text size (including Google Road Maps text), while lower resolutions lead to larger text size. This is determined by the pixel size you select and isn't something we control.

How to cite Grapher

If you want to reference Grapher in the body of the paper, you can use "Grapher® from Golden Software, LLC (www.goldensoftware.com)" or "Grapher® (Golden Software, LLC)" as in-text citations. Grapher is a registered trademark, and must include the ® after it.
