If you click Home | Insert | Text, and the Text Editor doesn't appear to open, this is usually caused by the Text Editor being displayed off the visible portion of the screen. It could have been moved off the visible portion of the screen inadvertently (it was accidentally dragged off so only a small portion of it is visible) or this could happen if the computer monitor resolution changed.
When this happens, there are three ways to return the program so that the dialogs open at the default location on the screen:
- Method 1: Click View | Windows | Reset Windows. You will need to close and reopen the program for the change to take effect. All manager and dialog windows should again be visible and in their default locations.
- Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the program. This may reset the registry items to the defaults, including the manager and dialog positions.
- Method 3: Edit the registry. Since altering the registry incorrectly can cause the program to not run correctly or the machine to not boot, it is highly advised that this procedure be used by expert users only. Please contact Golden Software for more information on this method.
