Change the default colors used to fill contour maps in Surfer

When enabling contour fills on a contour map, by default the colors range from black at the low values to white at the high values.. To modify this color spread to a different default to a different set of colors, follow the steps below. You can also change the color fill of individual contour maps to different color scales in the Properties window at any time.
  1. Click File | Defaults.
  2. In the Settings section, expand Map Contour 
  3. Select cFillFgClr.
    1. In the Setting value field, enter the full file path to the CLR file you wish to use. For example: C:\Program Files\Golden Software\Surfer 14Rainbow6.clr.
    2. Change the Setting persistence to Always reset.

  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Yes to save the changes to the Surfer.set file.

 

To return Surfer to the original default, follow the same steps but enter Internal Default in the Setting value field.
