This article contains information about how to update or upgrade to the most recent version of Surfer.
Minor updates (e.g. version 14.0 to 14.1) may be downloaded for free if your serial number/product key is registered. Connect your computer to the internet, open Surfer, and click click the File | Online | Check for Update command. If you are running Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 10 we suggest running Surfer as Administrator and then using the File | Online | Check for Update command. To run a program as Administrator, right click over the Surfer desktop icon or application EXE file and click Run as administrator. This will download and install the latest update on your machine. Information about the latest version is listed on the Version History page.
If you experience any problems with this command or would like to download the full version of the updated software, and you are running the current version or the version just prior to the current version, you can log into the My Account portal on the Golden Software website, click the My Products button, and then click to the left of your serial number/product key.
If you are using an older version of Surfer, please email your registered Surfer serial number to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once your serial number is verified, we will send you download instructions. To determine your serial number, click the Help | About Surfer command. The serial number is listed in the dialog.
Major upgrades (e.g. version 13 to version 14) are available for US$279 (plus shipping if you are located in Colorado) if your maintenance has expired. Click the BUY NOW button at the top right of the Golden Software webpage for more information. If your maintenance is still current at the time of release of the new version, you will receive the upgrade to that version for free.
