Surfer does not support 3D extrusions in DXF files. If you have a DXF file with 3D extrusions, you will recieve this warning upon import. In addition, if you do not skip the paperspace entities upon import, the file may load with incorrect limits.
The best method is to remove the 3D extrusion objects in AutoCAD or convert them to regular objects and resave the DXF file to use in Surfer. If you are unable to remove the extrusions in AutoCAD, you may be able to work around the problem in Surfer by following these steps:
- Click Home | New Map | Base | Base (or Home | Add to Map | Layer | Base if adding to an existing map).
- Select the DXF file and click Open.
- In the DXF Export Options dialog, make sure Skip Paperspace Entities is checked and click OK.
- In the DXF AutoCAD Drawing Warning, click Yes to ignore or click No to import the extruded entities. The DXF file is imported.
