You can only clip a log to the X axis (i.e. the variable scale) if the log is a type of log that uses a scale bar (i.e. Line/Symbol logs, Crossplot logs, Bar logs, Tadpole logs, and Function logs). To do so select the log and then:
- For Function, Bar, and Line/Symbol logs, on the Log page of the Property Manager, uncheck the box next to Auto data range and then change the Minimum value and/or Maximum value to be the extents that you want.
- For Crossplot logs, on the Log page of the Property Manager, in either the Curve 1 or Curve 2 section, uncheck the box next to Auto data range and then change the Minimum value and/or Maximum value to be the extents that you want.
- For Tadpole logs, on the Log page of the Property Manager, uncheck the box next to Auto dip range and then change the Minimum value and/or Maximum value to be the extents that you want.
For all logs except the Depth log, to clip a log to the Y axis (i.e. the depth scale) you will need to clip all logs to the same depth. To do so:
- Click View | Display | View Properties.
- In the Property Manager, change the Depth settings to User defined.
- Change the Starting borehole depth and/or Ending borehole depth to whatever you would like.
For a Depth log, select the log and then, on the Ticks page of the Property Manager set the Scaling (under Tick Positions) to User Defined and specify your desired Axis minimum and/or Axis maximum. Doing so will only crop the Depth log.
