To adjust the vertical scale in Strater to 1" = 500" (1:500), all you need to do is set the Standard Scale 1 property for the view. To do this:
- Click View | Display | View Properties (View | View Properties in Strater 3 and 4).
- In the Property Manager, uncheck Auto-recalculate scale (if needed).
- Enter 500 in the Standard scale 1 field.
In Strater 1, this was not an option and so you need to calculate how many data units is 500" to set the scaling depth per inch.
If your data is in units of feet, then you can find out how many feet 500" is:
So you would want to enter a Scaling Depth Per Inch of 41.67.
If your data is in units of meters, then:
So you would want to enter a Scaling Depth Per Inch of 12.7.
