Specify scale per page in Strater

Strater is a retired.
Strater is officially retired, but you can still purchase additional licenses. Strater is sold as-is and will not receive updates, fixes, or new features.
We will continue to provide limited email-only support for as long as possible. Please contact stratersupport@goldensoftware.com with any questions.

Strater scales logs based on a scaling depth per inch (or centimeter, depending on how you have your page units set up). To set it up so that there is 20m per page, go through the following steps:

  1. Click File | Page Setup
  2. In the Page Setup dialog, note the Height of the Log Pane.
  3. Divide the scale you want per page (20m in this case) by the height of the log pane. For example, if the log pane height is 7.8”, you would divide 20 by 7.8 to get 2.56.
    • By default Strater will place the header/footer on each page. Change this behavior by changing the Show method in the Header Pane and Footer Pane sections.
  4. Click Cancel or click the X in the upper right corner of the dialog to close it.
  5. Click View | Display | View Properties.
  6. In the Property Manager, in the Scale section on the View page, uncheck Auto-recalculate scale.
  7. Set the Scaling depth per inch (or centimeter) to the number calculated in step 3 (i.e. 2.56 for our example).

*Note: If you're using Strater 4 or 5 and you've set the header and/or footer panes to display on the first, last, or first and last pages, or you've set different header pane heights for the first versus the other pages, you will need to take this into account in your calculation.
