With the release of Grapher 13, a fully integrated version of the Piper Plot was released. To change the tick label spacing in Grapher 13 or newer versions, complete the steps below:
- Click on any Axis in the Object Manager.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section as desired.
- Repeat for all desired axes.
Grapher 12 and earlier versions can be used to create a piper plot using a combination of ternary plots and scatter plots as described in the article Create Piper plots in earlier versions of Grapher. To adjust the tick spacing in Grapher 12 and previous versions follow these instructions.
To change the spacing in the diamond plot:
- Select Ternary Z Axis in the Upside down graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section to 0.1.
- Select Ternary X Axis in the Upside down graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section to 0.1.
- In the Right Ternary graph, select Ternary Plot 1.
- Click Graph Tools | Worksheet | Display.
- In columns N and O, update the values so they go from 0-100 and 100-0 in increments of 10.
- Go back to the graph by clicking the piper plot.grf tab of the Plot window.
- Select Ternary X Axis in the Upper right side up graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section to 10.
- Select Ternary Z Axis in the Upper right side up graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the First tick value and Last tick value in the Tick Range section to 0 and 100 respectively.
- Select X Axis 3 in the Piper Points graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section to 10.
- Change the First tick value and Last tick value in the Tick Range section to 0 and 100 respectively.
The spacing in the left ternary plot will update automatically. To change the spacing in the right ternary plot:
- Select Ternary Z Axis in the Right Ternary graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section to 10.
- Select Ternary Y Axis in the Right Ternary graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section to 10.
- Select Ternary X Axis in the Right Ternary graph.
- Click on the Ticks tab in the Property Manager.
- Change the Spacing in the Major Ticks section to 10.
