If you regularly create multiple graphs with the same settings and properties, cou can create templates in Grapher!
To create a template in Grapher:
- Create one or more graphs and customize as desired.
- Click the File | Save As command.
- In the Save As dialog, change the Save as type to Plot Template (*.grt).
- Give the template file a name and click Save.
To use the template to create graphs from different data files:
- Click File | Open.
- In the Open dialog, select the template file and click Open.
- In the next dialog (name is dependent on objects in the template), select the first data file you wish to plot.
- If there is just one data file to use, check the box at the very bottom of the dialog next to Use this worksheet for remaining items.
- Click Open.
- Repeat steps 3 and 5 for any remaining items, if multiple data files will be used.
- The graph(s) are created from the chosen data file(s).
- To save the project with the new data,
- Click the File | Save As command.
- In the Save As dialog, select Grapher File (*.grf) or Grapher Project (*.gpj) in the Save as type field.
- Type in a File name for the new Grapher file.
- Click the Save button. This saves a new graph with the data and all of the formatting from the original template, without saving over the template file.
