After drawing your text and polygon/polylines objects (using the Insert commands on the Home ribbon bar tab), the Align commands on the Layout ribbon bar tab can help you arrange the objects quickly and easily. These options can also be used on maps on the page.
- Align to Margins
Turn this option on and then use any of the other commands in the Align dropdown list to apply the alignment or distributions of the objects relative to the page margins. For example, if this option is enabled, and you click Layout | Arrange | Align | Top with three objects selected, rather than those objects aligning to the leftmost selected object, they will align to the top page margin.
If you have a group selected rather than individual objects, the edge of the group will be aligned or distributed as selected, not each object within the group. - Distribute Horizontally
This command moves all selected objects horizontally so they are evenly-spaced from one-another within the bounds of the selection box (or within the page margins, if Align to Margins is enabled). - Distribute Vertically
This command moves all selected objects vertically so they are evenly-spaced from one-another within the bounds of the selection box (or within the page margins, if Align to Margins is enabled).
