Voxler serial numbers are stored in the Windows registry. You can edit the registry to remove the serial number. This may be necessary when installing a new copy of Voxler 4 that is using a different serial number than the previous copy. The serial number may be stored in a few different places, depending on how Voxler was installed. The steps below can be used to remove the serial number.
Please be very careful when editing the Windows registry.
Follow the instructions below if you have a default installation:
- Type regedit into the Windows search bar, and press ENTER.
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Golden Software\Voxler\4.
- In the pane on the right, click ExportGUID, ShortcutGUID or ImportGUID, whichever is present.
- Press the DELETE key on the keyboard.
- In the Confirm Value Delete dialog, click Yes.
- Close the Registry Editor.
Follow the instructions below if you have installed 32-bit version of Voxler on a 64-bit computer:
- Type regedit into the Windows search bar, and press ENTER.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Golden Software\Voxler\4.
- In the pane on the right, click ExportGUID, ShortcutGUID or ImportGUID, if either are present.
- Press the DELETE key on the keyboard.
- In the Confirm Value Delete dialog, click Yes.
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Golden Software\Voxler\4
- In the pane on the right, click ExportGUID, ShortcutGUID or ImportGUID, if either are present.
- Press the DELETE key on the keyboard.
- In the Confirm Value Delete dialog, click Yes.
- Close the Registry Editor.
The next time Voxler is started, it will prompt the user to enter the serial number.
